THE WOMAN WITH A WEE WANT: "A well crafted tragedy..."

I've recently had what I call a "healthy rejection" from the highly regarded Fishamble Theatre Company, Dublin, regarding my play, 'The Woman With A Wee Want'.

Why healthy?

Because if you read it, it is basically saying that it is a good play!

I consider it to be very positive feedback and bearing in mind that all feedback is subjective, it seems fair to say, that this feedback in no shape or form indicates that the play is in anyway a 'bad' play or that it 'fails', for example, in terms of overall concept, character, dialogue, plot etc.

There are just two points that they suggest I look at, which did give me some cause for concern, but which I have now addressed, having considered them to be fair enough points.

Now when I send the scipt out again I will have hopefully substantially improved upon it and move a step closer to that elusive dream of having a full production.

Take heart dear writers; rejections can oft times be very "healthy" and not something to get down about!

So, good luck with your own writing and stay healthy!

Cheers!

Gerry.
